Scholarships and Grants do not require any repayment. Scholarships and Grants
can be funded by a variety of sources -- Washington University, the Federal
government, state governments, and community organizations.
Washington University Scholarship
A Washington University Scholarship is an expression of our belief in the
strong talents that you bring to the Washington University community.
Federal Pell Grant
Your eligibility for a Pell grant and the amount awarded is determined by the
U.S. Department of Education. To learn more about the Pell grant program, you
can visit the Department of Education website at
www.ed.gov.
State Grants
Many states offer grants to students attending a college or university.
Criteria varies by state, but it is worthwhile to do your research to find out
if you are eligible for a state-funded grant. Your guidance counselor will be
able to direct you to information about any available programs.
Outside Scholarships
Many students receive scholarships that are awarded by non-federal or state
government sources outside Washington University. Examples are awards from
corporations, foundations, civic or religious organizations, etc. You should
inform the Office of Student Financial Services of any outside scholarships
that you receive so that they may be applied to your university costs. We
invite you to learn more about
how Outside Scholarships can work with your financial assistance award.
