Tips for a Successful Scholarship Search

• In addition to the SRC, search for Other Scholarship Resources.
• Get organized. Start a binder to track your search efforts. Note the due date and application requirements for each scholarship that interests you.
• Provide yourself with enough time. It's never too early to start your search -- just bookmark and check Web sites often for updates.
• Be discerning. It is not necessary to pay for scholarship search assistance -- All of the information is already at your fingertips!
• If you register for a service online, be certain that you are submitting information over a secured Web site. (Look for the small, closed padlock symbol in the lower left-hand or right-hand corner of your browser window)
• Don't believe in guarantees or money-back offers. Your success depends upon your hard work and perseverance.
